Benefits of Joining HGAR
As a member of the "REALTOR®" family, you’ll be joining a three-tiered organization – local, state and national – all ready to support you by providing important benefits and resources. www.realtor.com / www.nysar
Each year, the HGAR honors its top producers with sales awards for both dollar amounts sold and number of transactions. An Awards Celebration is held at a different location each year to recognize all winners.

The HGAR offers a series of live classes, online classes, and new member orientation meetings every month. We provide three classrooms at our spacious White Plains location, with exciting topics including “Financing for the Difficult Buyer,” “Foreclosures and Short Sales,” “Going Green,” “Working with Seniors,” “All About Leases,” and many more. www.wpar.org/education/education_home.
The NYSAR and NAR also offer continuing education classes for various designations. www.realtor.org/education / www.nysar.com
As a HGAR member, you’ll receive E-newsletters and email updates on various news items, classes, and networking events. You can also receive immediate updates by becoming a Facebook Fan of “Hudson Gateway Association of Realtors” and following us on Twitter at “WestPutRealtors.”
NYSAR legal advice hotline is here to provide legal and regulatory information for you, Mondays through Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at (518) 43NYSAR or 436-9727.
Our website offers a wealth of free legal forms, from rental agreements to lead disclosure documents.
Joining HGAR gives you a voice in local, state and national government. We work to support legislation and regulation that not only helps consumers, but also elevates the practice of real estate. Our Board has played a major role in promoting consumer-friendly laws that are now in effect in New York: agency disclosure, property conditions disclosure, increased education requirements for real estate licensure, mandatory fair housing training as part of the continuing education of real estate licensees, and prohibition of real estate licenses to sex offenders. We also work to oppose bills that would impair the real estate market.

We maintain a full online library of legal articles, position papers, market statistics, annual reports and bylaws. www.wpar.org/library/home
You’ll enjoy access to the Westchester Putnam Multiple Listing Service to search for properties as well as open houses in both counties and beyond (access available to licensees whose principal broker subscribes to WPMLS).
The HGAR offers networking events for its members to provide a forum for interaction with others in the real estate business.
